Last weekend Claire and David braved the cold and the wind to hang out with us for their engagement session. They were so fun! It was great getting to know them better. And it was extra special because we  took them around our hometown, including the Branford House at Avery Point Fort, Eastern Point Beach and Fort Griswold, which is right near our house. (I love this place so much!)

Claire and David, thanks for being so much fun! We can’t wait for your wedding day!

A couple of weeks ago, I got a phone call from Eve in Texas. Eve explained that her daughter Lindsey was engaged to Branden, who is stationed here at the Groton Sub Base. Lindsey and her family were coming to visit him and they would like to have some engagement pictures done. After some phone calls back and forth (Eve is really fun to talk to!) we were able to set up a time for this past weekend.

We met Lindsey and Branden at Eastern Point Beach in Groton. It’s one of our favorite places to hang out, but we’d never taken a couple there before! Lindsey and Branden were just as sweet as we expected (after chatting with Lindsey’s mom, who is so sweet)! These two were so cute and could not stop looking at each other. Lindsey and her family had DRIVEN from Texas and were actually heading back that night. It was really fun to hang out with them. I think it’s safe to say that they are crazy about each other!

Then we headed over to the Branford House, another one of our favorite spots.

For our last stop of the morning, we headed to Fort Griswold. This engagement shoot was so much fun for us, not just because Lindsey & Branden were so cute together, but because we also explored some locations right in our own backyard. (Literally! We live right down the street!)

Lindsey and Branden, we loved spending the morning with you guys. Thanks for hanging out with us! I’m sure these times apart aren’t easy, but hopefully these pictures will make you smile!

01.10.11 : Personal

This Saturday we woke up to a snow covered world. It was our second significant snowfall of the year. The first was a blizzard, with so much drifting snow and howling winds that it wasn’t exactly ideal sledding weather. This storm, however, laid down the perfect snowy blanket. John took the boys up to the Fort for some sledding fun, and met lots of our friends there. Me? I stayed home in my pjs. Hey, someone had to be on hot chocolate duty!

John brought the camera along and got some awesome shots. I just had to share! (You can see by these pictures that he is a fantastic photographer in his own right. I am lucky to have him as my second shooter!)

Our little friend, Avery.
