When I was about 19, an ex-boyfriend bought me a used SLR camera for my birthday. A couple of months later, when said ex-boyfriend dumped me, I took a summer photography course at UCONN. That turned out to be true love. I changed my major from “undecided” to “photography” and got a job in a photo lab and portrait studio. At some point, after shooting several weddings, I decided I wasn’t going to be able to make a living at it. And so I changed my major to art history (ok, you can stop laughing now).
I went on to marry my true love, went back to school for interior design, worked with an amazing designer for nine years and had two great kids. Somewhere along the line, while I was living my happy life, an amazing thing happened. My one true love reintroduced me to my other true love. He bought me a Nikon D80 camera. And I fell, hard. Countless pictures of my kids, dog, family, friends and a Nikon D700 later, I shot my first wedding. It felt like Christmas morning.
So, here I am. Welcome to my blog! I hope you’ll check it out often. Check out the galleries. And I just want to thank all of my family and friends who have been so supportive. And since no post is complete without a photo, here’s one of my boys on their first day of school.
Jen,

Jenny,
What an amazing talent you are. The photography world is privileged to have you. I love the wedding pictures of Holly and Chris; The small and intimate details you were able to catch . The autism puzzle pin was one of my favorite details you were able to share and I can only imagine what that picture means to the bride and groom. You are able to evoke feelings and emotion in the your subjects and this is a true gift. Many pictures brought me to tears, many made me smile and some made me chuckle. I am so happy for you and proud to have you in my family;
I love you,
Elaine
