Carmen and Mark have a lot of family and SO MANY cute nieces and nephews. I could do an entire blog post of just adorable kids! And the sweetest dog that was rescued from Afghanistan. Their wedding day was so much fun. Carmen and Mark are just the nicest people. I loved the boho, easy vibe of their day, especially Carmen’s beautiful Anna Campbell dress, the gorgeous flowers and the colors of the bridesmaid dresses. So pretty! It was an amazing celebration full of laughter, happy tears and the joyful chaos only a big family can bring.
Katherine and Brian both went to James Madison University and despite having many friends in common, never met. Twenty years later, the stars aligned and brought them together. And when their kids met six months later, they loved each other instantly. It was clearly meant to be. After a disappointing postponement, Katherine and Brian finally had their wedding day at Saltwater Farm Vineyard last week. It was beautiful in every way. This day was so special because it was all about their kids. Brian’s two daughters and Katherine’s son and daughter were so happy to officially become a family (something they clearly already were!) They were a big part of the ceremony and the reception. A family first dance, cake cutting and a sweet and funny toast by the kids were highlights. And hearing Katherine’s daughter tell her that she looked like a princess completely melted my heart.
A year ago, Katharine and Neal exchanged their wedding vows in front of their immediate family on what was supposed to be their original wedding date on a hot and sunny day in Mystic. And a year later, on another hot and sunny day in Mystic, they finally had their amazing celebration, complete with Hindu and Christian ceremonies and all of their extended family and friends! (As their reverend noted, they are very, very married!) Katharine and Neal wanted their big day to celebrate their cultures and the beautiful place where they met and fell in love. Latitude 41 at the Mystic Seaport was the perfect spot for them. Despite the heat, friends and family danced the night away under the tent on the lawn. I’m so happy that Katharine and Neal finally had their magic night, but I know they’ve already started their happily ever after.
