When Caroline contacted us about her wedding, we were so excited! We had shot her sister Caitlyn’s and Chris wedding a few years ago and were so happy to be able to capture another joyful day for their family. Of course, neither of us had any idea what 2020 had in store. But Caroline and Zack have weathered tough times before, so it’s no surprise that they simply made some adjustments and went ahead with their day. These two were ready to be married, and no pandemic was going to stop them! The Saybrook Point Inn did a great job and was a perfect backdrop for their seaside ceremony and reception. And an extra bonus for us was meeting Chris and Caitlyn’s beautiful baby girl!

Gina and David got married last weekend and it was beautiful! They had maneuvered through planning in these crazy times with grace and good humor (and help from Daly of Daly Planning). And with just a few changes, they were able to have their intimate wedding on their original date!  Even when it started raining briefly before the ceremony, they never stopped smiling. And then the rain stopped and they were blessed with beautiful sunshine and the most amazing golden hour. The sun was pouring in on them during their first dance.

One of our favorite parts of the day was the first look that Gina arranged with David’s groomsman dressed in the manatee onsie that David had bought her. It was the perfect ice breaker. It made their actual first look even more special.

Their day was full of some clouds, a little rain, the most gorgeous sunshine, smiles, happy tears and lots of laughter. We were so happy to be there to share it with them!

As Alexa’s dad joked during his welcome, he doesn’t recommend planning a wedding during a pandemic, or a hurricane! It’s certainly not for the faint of heart. But Alexa and Justin had already endured a lengthy separation just a few months into their relationship when Justin left for military training. (He’s an Army Medic. Thank you for your service, Justin!) They were used to dealing with things that aren’t easy. Nothing was going to stop them from celebrating their lives together with their family and friends! So after postponing their date, ordering custom face masks and hand sanitizers and making sure all protocols were being followed, there was just the matter of the weather to deal with. The forecast was calling for rain, rain, and more rain as the remnants of a hurricane marched our way. And while it rained all morning, the most amazing thing happened. It stopped just in time for Alexa and Justin to do their first look! And the sun even came out during their ceremony! I think it’s safe to say that this special couple is truly blessed. Their day was absolutely beautiful and we were so happy to be a small part of it.
