And just like that, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! As we enjoy a fresh blanket of snow, I thought it would be a perfect time to share Rachael and Andrew’s classically beautiful wedding at the Branford House Mansion. A little over a week ago, we ended our season in the best possible way. I connected with Rachael and Andrew from the first time we chatted on the phone. I loved their laid back approach to their day, starting with them getting ready at her parents home and carriage house and ending with a beautiful party at one of our favorite venues, the Branford House Mansion. For them it was all about celebrating with their family and friends. And what an amazing celebration it was! Rachael looked absolutely regal (which is perfect, because she’s a big fan of the queen!). Guests commented that she looked like she walked right off the set of the Crown. And I couldn’t pass up the opportunity of doing some classic bridal portraits of her. I was in heaven. It’s always so fun when our couples trust us and indulge me when I get excited about something. I am so in love with the results! Their whole day was a perfect reflection of this sweet couple. And we were so thrilled to be there to capture it for them.
Last weekend, Jamilee and Chris got married! It has been unseasonably cold in the week leading up, but these two had blue sky, sunny perfection for their big day. I was so excited for them. As soon as I entered the Morgan Suite at the Whaler’s Inn in Mystic, I knew it was going to be great. Jamilee was surrounded by her family and best friends and the mood was both excited and calm (probably thanks to her very specific timeline). She was the vision of classic beauty and he looked so handsome in his bow tie. They are so sweet and fun and their day was beautiful in every way! Their families and friends welcomed us in with open arms (and their parents said we were like ninja photographers because we are so good at blending in. Best compliment ever!) We felt so honored to be with them on this very special beginning of their life together.
I know I always say that our couples are amazing, but here’s the thing. Our couples are amazing! Case in point: Maura and Eamonn. The two words that come to mind when I think of these two are thoughtful and kind. They are truly a beautiful couple, inside and out. We met them for their engagement session last winter on the beach at Weekapaug. It was so cold! But we had the best time with them and their dog Lily. They brought a beautiful Pendleton blanket to their session that I was slightly obsessed with. It was so pretty and so warm! I had even thought of asking John to buy me one for Christmas. So imagine my surprise when Maura handed me a beautiful box on the morning of her wedding day. They had remembered how much we admired their blanket and had bought us one of our own! I almost cried! It was the most thoughtful and beautiful gift. That just sums up these two. We were so thankful that they chose us and even more thankful that their day was stunningly perfect! It was full of warmth, beauty and lots of laughter.
