Wow. Mother Nature really seems to have it in for us here in New England this winter. First non-stop snow, and now bitter cold and more snow on the way. Yesterday was freezing, so it seemed like a really good day to start fulfilling one of my New Year resolutions: making Sunday Dinner.
John and I both love to cook but during the week I end up just making quick meals. So, the goal is to make something delicious, warm and comforting when we have the time. And one of the advantages of making a great Sunday dinner is leftovers!
Growing up, my family spent many Sunday dinners at my Grandma Nellie’s house, and one of her go to meals was pot roast. Hers was always served with baby potatoes, carrots and lots of gravy, but John and I decided to make this Tuscan pot roast with mushrooms and red wine.
It was really good, and brought me right back to Grandma Nellie’s house. I think somewhere, she was smiling.
So, does anyone have any Sunday Dinner recipes to share? I will occasionally post some pics on here when we find something we really like.
Yummy!
