John and I were lucky enough to finish up our wedding season (and 2018) with a very special wedding at the Mystic Seaport Museum. The Seaport was all decked out for the holidays and was the perfect place for friends and family from near and far to celebrate Alexandra and Tyler! Alex and Tyler met at the Naval School of Music. He is a Navy trumpet player and she is a Marine Corps flutist. They started dating and then after graduation were sent to their respective duty stations, very far from one another. They continued dating long distance but when Alex had a serious health scare, Tyler flew to her and took care of her for nearly a month. Thankfully they received the good news that she was on the road to recovery. They just knew that they were meant to be together forever. The health scare prompted them to get legally married in a small ceremony in her home town in California and then plan their dream wedding with everyone that they love in Tyler’s home town. The Seaport was the perfect backdrop for this couple with such strong military family connections. It really brought their Americana theme to life. Tyler wore a custom British officer’s uniform, complete with saber (later used to cut the cake! Funny side note: Our son Max is fencing saber for his college fencing team this year!) Alex had a gorgeous cape made, which was not only beautiful but perfect for the end of December. With the help of Jenna and the Coastal Gourmet team, the whole day just came together beautifully. They were all so happy to be together! And we were so happy to be a small part of their celebration.

When we met Brittany and Matt for their engagement session last Spring, we had so much fun with them that we’d been looking forward to their wedding ever since. We knew that their day would not only be beautiful but full of sweet moments and laughter. We weren’t disappointed! I love how Matt makes her laugh. They clearly make each other so happy. And their family and friends were so happy for them. It was a perfect way to end our Fall wedding season!

Brittany and Matt had some very talented vendors to help bring their perfect wedding day to life.  Wedding Planner: Daly Planning / Church: Christ Church, Westerly / Venue: Saltwater Farm Vineyard / Wedding Dress Designer: Maggie Sottero from Chryssie’s Bridal / Hair: The Traveling Comb / Makeup: Mercedes McCoy Makeup Artistry & Aesthetics / Florist: Mystic Florist / Caterer: Coastal Gourmet / DJ: Power Posse Productions / Videographer: Chris Walsh Productions / Lighting: Power Posse Productions

Brittany’s hair comb was made from her mother’s bridal head piece, and her pearl bracelet was from her grandmother’s necklace. I always love those special, personal touches. Brittany did a first look with Matt (and her dad!), which allowed us plenty of time for portraits before their ceremony at the beautiful Christ Church in Westerly, and also for a few more portraits in the beautiful light after!

Last weekend, Melissa and Brendan got married at Saint Patrick Church before heading to Saltwater Farm Vineyard to celebrate with family and friends. It was a perfect Fall day, full of nervous anticipation, sparkling sunshine and blue skies. Melissa and Brendan are such a sweet couple and Melissa was absolutely stunning in her Wilderly Bride gown (It’s the boho line from Allure Bridal. So gorgeous!). After a lovely ceremony, they exited the church and spent a quiet moment together in the most amazing golden light. It was such a beautiful unplanned moment.  It was so nice to see their joy and relief (those ceremonies can be a bit nervewracking) as they soaked in those first few moments as husband and wife. It’s these candid moments that we live for! We headed to the always gorgeous Saltwater Farm Vineyards for some portraits before their reception. It was such a great day. Melissa and Brendan’s family and friends were really fun and so happy to celebrate the new Mr & Mrs!
