One of the best parts of being a wedding photographer is being with a couple and their close family and friends on such an important day in their lives. And when we get to work with the same family more than once, it’s even more special! We were lucky enough to photograph Rachel and Andrew’s amazing wedding a few years ago, and we were so thrilled to photograph her sister Sarah and Aaron’s wedding at the beautiful Eolia Mansion! Sarah and Aaron are the sweetest couple, not to mentions super stylish. (She is a buyer at Bloomingdales and he owns his own lifestyle clothing brand called Brigade USA.) So of course Sarah’s dress was simply gorgeous! She and Aaron radiated happiness. Eolia Masion and the gardens were a perfect backdrop for their celebration, and Ivy’s Catering spoiled us with the most delicious food. It was a beautiful day, start to finish, and we were so happy to be a part of it.

Sarah did not know that her Nana was going to be able to attend the wedding. It was a beautiful surprise! She was overcome with emotion when she saw her.

Last weekend, we had the pleasure of shooting a classically beautiful wedding for a beautiful couple. Jane and Peter are all about their family and close friends, and their wedding day reflected that perfectly. They are such thoughtful and caring people. All of their guests were so happy to see them officially start their life as husband and wife.  The day started on a special note, with John hanging out with Peter and the guys at Trinity College (his family is multi-generational alumni!) while I spent some time with Jane and her bridesmaids at her Dad’s house before making a stop at a friend’s home to take some photos on their grounds. It was gorgeous. But one of my favorite moments was Jane and Peter’s church exit! Peter, his father and brothers are all exceptional rowers. In fact, Peter was in the 2012 Olympics! So, instead of a sword arch, they had an oar arch! It was so cool! After the ceremony, it was on to the Hartford Golf Club. It’s beautiful spot to celebrate, especially with the florals by Melissa at Stylish Blooms. Their family and friends treated us like old friends and we had so much fun. It was such a perfect day, and John and I were so happy to be a part of it!

Last weekend was Katie and Jeffrey’s beautiful Fall wedding at Saltwater Farm Vineyard. The weather was (finally) gorgeous, and we were so happy to see this sweet couple again! We loved getting to know them at their engagement session last Fall. They are so cute together. Katie has the best laugh and Jeffrey obviously makes her very happy. (Plus, Katie was born in England and has the best accent, which immediately makes me want to be her best friend!) I always ask our couple how they met, and I love their story. “We went to the same high school and were friends, not dating. We went to the same college and decided to meet a few times a week for lunch, for a friendly face. Lunches turned into more lunches, which turned into dinners, which turned into dates.” Which turned into these two beautiful people getting married!

Their family and friends were so sweet and the whole day was full of emotion. One of the most rewarding things about being a wedding photographer is being able to capture real moments and the connection between people. Happy tears? There’s a good chance I’m tearing up behind the camera, too. And there was lots of laughter and happy tears on this special day.

Jeffrey and his groomsmen spent the afternoon at the hotel, getting ready and playing poker. The girls relaxed and got ready in the bridal suite at Saltwater Farm. Katie got choked up when she saw Jeffrey and the guys arrive at the vineyard. It was so sweet! And just one small moment on this special day. First looks, a beautiful ceremony, special dances, this wedding was full of amazing moments!
