Kate and Tom are two very cool math professors. When it came to their wedding they knew exactly what they wanted, and exactly what they didn’t. They chose to pass on some traditional wedding elements. No flowers, no DJ, no bouquet tosses. That’s just not them.
Originally they didn’t want a wedding photographer, either. But, fortunately for us, one of their friends contacted us and asked if they could give our services as a wedding gift. Fine with us, we said, but, um, didn’t they say they didn’t want a photographer? Well, as it turns out it was more about what they didn’t want. They didn’t want any posed, formal pictures. So we shot their wedding in a strictly photo-journalistic way, and we had a blast.
So, while they might not have had a lot of traditional wedding elements, what they did have was a beautiful ceremony and a great, relaxed party with great food, friends and family. And the best part for me was that they were excited to see the pictures.
Here are some pictures from their ceremony. St. Mary’s Church has some amazing stained glass.
Before the ceremony…
Patiently waiting…
A beautiful and simple ceremony.
Stay tuned for Part II, to be posted soon!
Hi Jennifer,
Your photos are beautiful! It was great to meet you this weekend. I’m completely overwhelmed with all the wonderful information we received, but look forward to putting it to good use. I hope our paths cross again soon!
