A year ago, Katharine and Neal exchanged their wedding vows in front of their immediate family on what was supposed to be their original wedding date on a hot and sunny day in Mystic. And a year later, on another hot and sunny day in Mystic, they finally had their amazing celebration, complete with Hindu and Christian ceremonies and all of their extended family and friends! (As their reverend noted, they are very, very married!) Katharine and Neal wanted their big day to celebrate their cultures and the beautiful place where they met and fell in love. Latitude 41 at the Mystic Seaport was the perfect spot for them. Despite the heat, friends and family danced the night away under the tent on the lawn. I’m so happy that Katharine and Neal finally had their magic night, but I know they’ve already started their happily ever after.

We were so excited for Katie and Steve’s wedding at Latitude 41. They are quite possibly the two nicest people that you’ll meet. We loved getting to know them at their engagement session. They are fun, laid back and so in love! Even when the weather forecast was looking ugly, they couldn’t wait for their wedding day. And when their day came and it was very windy and cold, they didn’t seem to mind. They just snuggled closer and kept smiling. Their friends are so much fun (and BONUS, I got to hug Jess from Jess Lance Photography and see her epic moves on the dance floor!). Everyone was so happy for Katie and Steve, including their vendors.  They had assembled an amazing group of vendors who truly worked as a team to bring their perfect day to life. And it was so beautiful.

Last weekend, Allison and Nick got married on the North Lawn of Latitude 41 on a perfect August day.

Allison and Nick are incredibly intelligent. (They met at grad school at Cornell where they were both in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology PhD program. Lots of references to foraging in the woods for mushrooms and snakes in their vows and toasts!) They are also two of the kindest people that you’ll ever meet. We had such an incredible time being with them and recording their love story!

Their day started with Allison getting ready in the Morgan Suite in the 1865 house at the Whaler Inn. When I saw her Carolina Herrara gown, I was in awe! It was one of the most amazing dresses that I’ve ever seen. When she put it on, we all agreed that she looked like a beautiful ballerina, timeless and classic. We met Nick at the Seaport for their first look, and his smile says it all. They hadn’t seen each other since the night before, and they so much to catch up on. They were so happy to see each other.  We just wandered around the grounds overlooking the water with sailboats floating by. We even took some images with her parent’s sailboat, which was docked at the Seaport. Their ceremony on the lawn was lovely, with sweet and heartfelt vows. After the ceremony they followed the Sweedish tradition of lots of toasts to the bride and groom. Nick is Sweedish and it was cool to hear some of their guests speaking the language. Their evening was topped off with dancing to the Sultans. A truly incredible wedding!
