We were so excited for Katie and Steve’s wedding at Latitude 41. They are quite possibly the two nicest people that you’ll meet. We loved getting to know them at their engagement session. They are fun, laid back and so in love! Even when the weather forecast was looking ugly, they couldn’t wait for their wedding day. And when their day came and it was very windy and cold, they didn’t seem to mind. They just snuggled closer and kept smiling. Their friends are so much fun (and BONUS, I got to hug Jess from Jess Lance Photography and see her epic moves on the dance floor!). Everyone was so happy for Katie and Steve, including their vendors.  They had assembled an amazing group of vendors who truly worked as a team to bring their perfect day to life. And it was so beautiful.

Last weekend, Allison and Nick got married on the North Lawn of Latitude 41 on a perfect August day.

Allison and Nick are incredibly intelligent. (They met at grad school at Cornell where they were both in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology PhD program. Lots of references to foraging in the woods for mushrooms and snakes in their vows and toasts!) They are also two of the kindest people that you’ll ever meet. We had such an incredible time being with them and recording their love story!

Their day started with Allison getting ready in the Morgan Suite in the 1865 house at the Whaler Inn. When I saw her Carolina Herrara gown, I was in awe! It was one of the most amazing dresses that I’ve ever seen. When she put it on, we all agreed that she looked like a beautiful ballerina, timeless and classic. We met Nick at the Seaport for their first look, and his smile says it all. They hadn’t seen each other since the night before, and they so much to catch up on. They were so happy to see each other.  We just wandered around the grounds overlooking the water with sailboats floating by. We even took some images with her parent’s sailboat, which was docked at the Seaport. Their ceremony on the lawn was lovely, with sweet and heartfelt vows. After the ceremony they followed the Sweedish tradition of lots of toasts to the bride and groom. Nick is Sweedish and it was cool to hear some of their guests speaking the language. Their evening was topped off with dancing to the Sultans. A truly incredible wedding!

Last weekend, Melinda and Tyler got married on one of the most beautiful days of the summer.  Blue skies, sunshine, and no humidity! We were so happy for this sweet couple, who we had met just about a year earlier for their engagement session (which was super hot and humid!) It was so great to see them again and celebrate them on their perfect day. And it was perfect, from start to finish! Even a slight hiccup due to traffic (95 in the summer, am I right?) didn’t stop them from enjoying themselves. I loved all of their thoughtful touches. My favorite was the lace heart made from Melinda’s mom’s wedding dress that she added to the inside of her beautiful dress. It was such a nice way to honor her and keep her close.

Melinda and Tyler had an amazing group of vendors that we always love to work with!  Dress: Romana Keveza from The White Dress by the Shore / Hair & Makeup: Larissa Lake and Co. / Florist: Stylish Blooms / Church: St John’s Church, Old Saybrook / Venue: Latitude 41 / Caterer: Coastal Gourmet / Wedding Coordinator: Jenna Landon, Coastal Gourmet / DJ: Dawson Entertainment / Favors: Mystic Knotworks / Lighting: Dawson Entertainment
