Allison & Nick’s Gorgeous Wedding at Latitude 41 and the Mystic Seaport Museum

Last weekend, Allison and Nick got married on the North Lawn of Latitude 41 on a perfect August day.

Allison and Nick are incredibly intelligent. (They met at grad school at Cornell where they were both in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology PhD program. Lots of references to foraging in the woods for mushrooms and snakes in their vows and toasts!) They are also two of the kindest people that you’ll ever meet. We had such an incredible time being with them and recording their love story!

Their day started with Allison getting ready in the Morgan Suite in the 1865 house at the Whaler Inn. When I saw her Carolina Herrara gown, I was in awe! It was one of the most amazing dresses that I’ve ever seen. When she put it on, we all agreed that she looked like a beautiful ballerina, timeless and classic. We met Nick at the Seaport for their first look, and his smile says it all. They hadn’t seen each other since the night before, and they so much to catch up on. They were so happy to see each other.  We just wandered around the grounds overlooking the water with sailboats floating by. We even took some images with her parent’s sailboat, which was docked at the Seaport. Their ceremony on the lawn was lovely, with sweet and heartfelt vows. After the ceremony they followed the Sweedish tradition of lots of toasts to the bride and groom. Nick is Sweedish and it was cool to hear some of their guests speaking the language. Their evening was topped off with dancing to the Sultans. A truly incredible wedding!
