Last weekend we wrapped up a very busy fall wedding season in the best way possible, with Holly and Tim’s gorgeous wedding at one of our favorite venues, the Branford House. This wedding was special to us for so many reasons. For one thing, it was in our neighborhood. It was so cool to shoot the ceremony at the church around the corner, and then shoot some portraits up the street from our house at Fort Griswold before heading down the street to the Branford House. (I love our neighborhood!) For another thing, Holly is the family of my good friend Megan, who we love, and by the end of the night John and I felt like family, too. We kept running into people we knew, like John’s high school baseball coach and a guy he grew up with in Noank who just happens to be married to Holly’s sister or my friend Sue from high school (Holly’s cousin)! It was so much fun!
Holly and Tim are such a sweet couple and I was so in love with Holly’s vintage 30’s style. Her hair, makeup and dress with caplet were stunning! And so perfect for the Branford House.
Another person we were excited to see was Holly’s nephew Charlie. We were among the many, many people who prayed for Charlie when his parents were told that he needed to have a heart replacement. Thankfully all of those prayers were answered, and Charlie received his new heart over a year ago! What a blessing to see him so happy and healthy!
Holly wore a cathedral length veil for the ceremony that belonged to Tim’s mom. It was both beautiful and sentimental. (I love a long veil!)
The Branford House is so beautiful. We love shooting there. We loved the simple touches Holly and Tim added, like the Chianti bottles!
One of the most special things about Holly and Tim’s wedding was that even though it was beautiful and elegant, it was so much fun watching all of Holly’s nieces and nephews having so much fun! And Holly’s brother’s band Doctor Dog provided the entertainment. (They just toured with the Lumineers. No biggie. Make sure you check them out! They rock, literally.)
