Lauren & Elliott’s Beautiful Wedding at the Boat Shed at Lighthouse Point

Last week, we held our breath as we watched the remnants of hurricane Dorian move up the coast and move out to sea. We watched the weather maps with the rain icons on Lauren & Elliott’s wedding day, which was being held at the Boat Shed at the Mystic Seaport. We figured we’d have to deal with at least a little bit of ugly weather. Not only did we miss the rain, but Lauren and Elliott’s wedding day was absolutely beautiful! Sunshine, blue skies, low humidity, golden sunset. Perfection! I was so happy for this couple, who are two of the sweetest people that you’ll ever meet. Lauren was rarely without a smile the entire day, and her smile just makes you happy! They truly enjoyed their day, soaking in the time with their family and friends. It was such a great day!

Some fun facts about Lauren & Elliott’s wedding day:

  • It was on the same day as the launch of the Mayflower, and the crowds and traffic at the Seaport were crazy! You can see the ship in the background of some of their photos.
  • Elliott’s dad built the arbor as the backdrop for their ceremony out of driftwood that he sourced from Elliott’s hometown in New Hampshire. It was gorgeous!
  • In the middle of their ceremony, one of the boats started playing the song “Valerie” really loudly. They totally took it in stride and had a good laugh. None of us will ever hear that song again without thinking of this sweet couple!

Lauren and Elliott also had a great group of vendors that helped make their day perfect!
